AREAS OF FOCUS

  • Chronic pain is something that doesn’t really ever go away. It’s something you learn to live with and manage. Our tools sometimes need a bit of a refresh. During these sessions we will work together to find ways to manage your comfort levels.

  • Yoga = Asana

    Although a yoga practice can be great for deep stretching & relaxation, you can also explore ways to build and retain strength. Yoga for strength building focuses on the muscle groups working together to release tension to optimize your practice.

  • Starting a yoga practice can be a big step -from learning the foundational postures and names, to balancing your breath to keep up with class. Sometimes having some prerequisites in place can help you ease yourself into a group class. During these sessions we will break down foundational postures to help you feel more comfortable in a group setting.

Teacher Development

  • When we teach, we sometimes fall into a routine. We’re creatures of habit and we tend to lean into our habitual nature. Sometimes we need a new perspective. During these sequencing sessions, we will break down ways to change up the flow of class to keep you bright and fresh for your students!

  • How many times have you repeated your goto cues in your group classes? Did you know that you can teach the same pose and every time class uses a new point of focus for a wide variety of cueing? During these sessions, I will show you ways to find creative ways to connect with your students. We will also focus on how language can build up barriers if cultural identities and marginalized communities aren’t considered.

Trauma Informed Teacher Trainings

  • MOTA’s 250 hour yoga teacher training is a bit different than the norm. We’re shaking things up from the traditional timeline of a 200hr yoga teacher training to offer you a self-paced, module-based 250 hour trauma informed training. This training will give you the space to learn at your own pace, dive deep and give you the tools you need to support your wellness education goals. We hope this format will further support accessibility within pursuing personal passions and also be a bit more inclusive for those that don’t necessarily resonate with the traditional 200 hour teacher training format.

  • September ‘24 - January ‘25

    The 100 hour training weaves together the foundations from the 50 hour training and continues to break down what it means to be a lifelong practitioner of yoga. Through the lens of embodiment you will learn how to hold trauma-informed spaces, incorporate anatomy into your classes, how to sequence, build your brand and how to embody yoga. This training will incorporate new teachers and teachings to continue the path of learning and diversify perspectives. You do not have to take the 50 hour training to sign up for this module. There are no prerequisites.

  • Mentorship - Career in Wellness

    The mentorship is designed to support you in the direction you would like to take your wellness career. Whether that is through the lens of teaching group classes, working one on one with clients or incorporating new practices into your already existing career.

    Studentship - Deepening Self Study

    Mentorship is also available for people who don’t necessarily want to teach or facilitate. You can take this mentorship to be supported in your self study. Some people need accountability, others need community to externalize their findings or curiosities.
