What a beautiful soul Lindsey is.

Her energy is vibrant and it shows through her teachings.

Alongside her work with yoga, Lindsey also is very passionate about her Armenian heritage. She fundraises yoga events to spread awareness and strives to help bring awareness to the genocides and hardships of the Armenian people.

Her efforts are pure and it shows up in her teachings. Leaving the students with many options while simultaneously keeping the structure of her goals for the class.

Her classes keeps me on my toes!

If you follow my personal account @lindseyh, I’ve been actively sharing information about what has been going on in Artakh and Armenia for the past 2 months. In this photo, I am in Artsakh, an Armenian controlled piece of indigenous land that internationally is recognized by Azerbaijan. ⠀

Artsakh has been Armenian since the beginning of time. Our churches there are as old as Christianity itself. In 1918 Stalin gifted Artsakh to Azerbaijan to lure them to join the Soviet Union. In 1988, the people of Artsakh overwhelmingly voted in favor of self determination shortly after, a war broke out in the early 90s and Armenia was able to retain control of the land however there was no final resolution.⠀

On September 27, Azerbaijan+Turkey, attacked Artsakh. Turkey and Azerbaijan have a population of 100MM, there are 10MM Armenians globally. The international community has been silent. Brokered ceasefires were violated by Azerbaijan in minutes. The war crimes committed are endless and yet neither country has been reprimanded. Hate crimes have targeted Armenians in cyberspace and in France, the US, and Germany as well. It’s significant as Turkey committed genocide against the Armenians in 1915, which is why we have the diaspora that we do.⠀

The war ended with Azerbaijan, taking control of many territories forcing almost 100,000 Armenians to leave their homes and businesses and start anew. The world sided with dictatorships over democracy and oil lines over indigenous history and culture. Many of these families have already lost their children, fathers, brothers, and sisters and soldiers who just fought don’t have homes to go back to. We are angry and disappointed. It is clear that we can only lean on ourselves. The diaspora will be the ones to provide the aid to Armenia that they need to build again. ⠀

I built this page to help people use their yoga practice to get through life struggles. I did not know how to use my practice for the past 2 months. But I am going to try. Along the way I want to promote my culture and our story to non-Armenians, provide support for my fellow Armenians, and continue to share my practices with those who may need it.
